Confusion about PMPML Bus purchase

Now a days Pune’s big problem of public transport, which is manage by PMPML, is shortage of number of buses available to passengers. So PMPML decided to purchase buses to add to the existing fleet.
The decision of purchasing the buses is to be taken by PMPML. Now PMPML decided to purchase buses having door on both side but the PMC which is directly elected body of Pune citizen, objected to this idea it is really a confusion, why buses having door on both sides are required It having door on both side are required. It appears a whimsical idea. as a present buses having door on one side never felt any problem. Because of having door on both sides so yet nobody has explained the benefit of having doors on two sides with a convincing explaination. It is doubtful CIRT who had studied the Pune traffic problems perticularly public transport has recommended this idea.But Pune mayor has supported this idea and the standing committee has opposed this concept and announced that PMC may go in purchase of buses with doors on one side only.

As a matter of fact the passengers’ opinion should have been taken into consideration because ultimately they are the users of buses.With this the main issue of increasing the fleet of buses is unnecessarily getting sidelined which is very much regrettable.
