In this week 47 heads of state have assembled in Washington, US to attend the world’s first Nuclear Security Summit ।The main focus perhaps is threat of laser beam on civilization। Our Prime Minister Manmohan Singh is also attending the summit This is second visit of our PM in recent time to US।
Our PM met President Obama on Sunday 11th April to discuss nuclear security as well as India’s concern over the military aid to our neighbor Pakistan, as well as situation in Afganistan. The PM has also discussed the Civil Nuclear Libality Bill which is at present in Loksabha under discussion. He informed the President that the bill is going through the democratic process. The opposition parties in India are opposing certain terms in the bill, specially liability aspect . The US is in hurry to get the bill passed in our parliament as, France and Russia have already inked the
deals.
There were high expectations about the possible meeting of our PM and Pakistan’s Prime minister Gilani. but the latest news is they will not meet. The Indian side is not keen at this stage about this meeting.
The world is worried about the possibility of falling the nuclear arsenal in the hands of terrorists. At present there is no evidence of such thing. But the possibility can not be ruled out, as highly enriched Uranium required to make an elementary nuclear bomb could be hidden inside a football.
This Nuclear security summit focuses on the most urgent dimension of nuclear danger. The number of states will announce
the actions they have taken .
The major terrorists’ attacks, specially the recent one in Moscow, has underlined the importance of such summit.The terrorists are acquiring the latest weapons and techniques.and hence most of the states are getting affected by their actions one way or the other.The epicenter of terrorists activities is middle east.To be precise it is in Pakistan. India is a great sufferer of this for a very long time. India expects from this summit some positive measures which may help to decide further actions to be taken to face the terroristt problem.

Terrorism has become a major issue or should I say it’s become a global problem. Even though it has originated in countries from the middle-east and Pakistan, these countries are also facing the problem.
