  1. Don't want to sound pessimistic here, but we have a looooong way to go before society changes its perception of women.

The west is definitely advanced with respect to that. In spite of da many sexists who din wanna see Hillary Clinton as Prez....women there are better educated, aware and free-er for sure. That, in spite of the fact that there were comments during last US Presidential elections that "Americans would rather prefer a black MAN, to a white WOMAN."

India and it's neighbouring (so called third world) nations, have all had women leaders unlike the west, but that's about all. Elsewhere, women from the west score.

Women in India are still taught from childhood to consider themselves low, helpless and someone else's property.
They are further pressurised by crazy scenes from soaps (many of em made by women, for women!), which bombard their lives and then they find further troubles to deal with.

Besides, when they say a women is another women's greatest enemy, it ain't all that wrong. Remember, saas-bahu problems have been there since ages! I've been seriously observing this phenomenon from a long time, and I can safely say that, what my observations have told me, is that no two women can generally stand each other. In fact, even mothers and daughters have loadsa problems, sister-to-sister is the one bond which seems to be the closest, but that too, can crack quick! Try praising one woman in fronta the other, you'll get a killer response no matter even if the two women have an age difference of 40!

This type of jealousy is rarely seen in men, who co-exist together quite peacefully, even though the domain of physical violence belongs to us. So said, I think it's about time women start supporting one another, and teach their kids to respect women, and if wat they say about most men being in total control of their mom is true, then such moms should make it a point to tell their sons not to harass the daughter in laws and stand by the woman entrant in the family.....and teach and set an example!

The above of course, is highly unlikely to happen in India so soon, so I'd say, for now, it's just best to spread the word n hope change happens. Peace OutZ!
