The issue regarding wid Sania Mirza- Shoyeb Malik merrage. Now a big question have arised that Will Sania play for Pakistan o for India after her marriage?
According to my knowledge, as per our Indian Traditions, after merriage the girls should follow the rules-regulations n traditions from her husbond's family. Now if we treat Sania wid the same criteria, then I think there should be no issue if Sania play for Pakistan.
As per my good memory, when Sania have started playing the tennis, a lot of limitations were infront of her from all the traditional muslims. She overcame that all as her professinalism for tennis. But now the issue is regarding wid the nationality. Now what will she do as a player is more important than what will she do as an Indian?

It'll be her personal choice. If she plays for India, Pakistani politicians will get an issue to debate about, If she plays for Pakistan, Indian politicians will have an issue to debate about, burn effigies etc. You see, such things which are of no importance to the common man's life make news....nope, are MADE-INTO-NEWS by da the present media people, which includes those like yourself since you made this as a topic, and then politicians find an easy way to raise controversies and talk crap, and divert attention away from the REAL ISSUES that trouble the common people, their problems etc.

I would suggest that more topics like what Gaurav said about electricity being wasted by bigwigs should be discussed, if we wish to turn ourselves into responsible journalists. At least, we should be doing so before making a topic about criticising those who (seemingly) support 'paid news' anyways.Peace OutZ!

ReplyDeleteI too feel that it's their personal choice. When I first read that news I said to myself, oh god, here is another opportunity for the media to fuel an unnecessary, unwarranted and meaningless controversy.
As for Guarav's views about Sania and Shoaib, well I agree with them as well. Sania as a player is well past her prime. There is not much she can achieve now.

ReplyDeleteI think this is not issue of nationality.Our law say that everyone take his own disision.It's Sania's decision to play either India or Pak.The politician makeisue on them; and simply journalist fill the colour & make RANGOLI of any matter.Now just I read that Balasaheb Thakre says that,'Sania is not Indian at now.' But who say Thakre that yet Sania not married.One thing I say about politician's in marathi phrase;

hi priyanka dahale here....i think media should not have any relation with celebrities personal life. but sometimes celebrities thereselves want to open their personal life through media to get fame and to remain on the screen of media and people's mind. i think more you go personal, you become universal and surcastically this applies to this issue very well. we the people have to decide the ethics of our reading, watching now!

As per we have disscussed this issue with media perspctive, then as I had asked in the seminar that whether media can change the view that we present what the people want to the people will have that we provide? No satisfactory answer I got at that time bt I think if certain ethical values are followed by the journalists n by us also, then we can change the view of people. If they have this faith(not blind) that whatever is written here by this person o by the media is well n good in social interest then its possible that we can forword our views with certain conditions applied to the writer. Is it so ???

I don't know if media CAN change the view, but I strongly feel that media SHOULD change the view. Like it wa smentioned the other day in our seminar, we need to ask the editors: when was the last time you met your reader?
ReplyDeletePeople discuss what the media gives them. (read more about agenda setting theory). Media has the power to affect its audiences in a number of ways. So the decision-makers in the media need to be sensitized about it.
Big media houses (that have made huge profits over the years) should experiment with alterations in the content (i.e. no sensationalism, coverage in direct proportion with its actual impact on the majority of ots readers etc.) and check for theselves what effect it has on the volume of readership. That may teach us all a few valuable lessons.
As for TV it is my strong belief that we don't need 24 hours news channels. Crisp, concise news content on a GEC is what is sufficient.

i wanna mention some different veiw regarding this matter
i think This matter have given to the voice to problem regarding women (belonging to muslim community) case like SHAH BANO can be consider as ray of hope to muslim women. but every woman is not getting there rights regarding marriges & any other. we can apply some problems of muslim women to Ayesh Siddiqui also, cant we?

Whether the media will change the opinion that people have of it, by which, the statement...
"Media Shows What It Wishes To Show, And People Have No Choice But to Accept It"
Could be changed to.....
"Media Shows What The People Want To See"
What it means is that, he wishes to see the day when the media plays what the people want, instead of forcing down content that their (the media's) management want to be show down the throats of uninterested viewers.
I hope I comprehended that correctly.
