Hello......D.Aseim here......
Imagine a day, when you walk out of your house, and are unable to take any further steps because there's too much stink. You smell and see it all over, yet the lack of food is making you bear it all, you have to reach the lone shop before it shuts, and tolerate a never ending queue for two bits of bread........then suddenly, you're shot dead.
Could you possibly imagine a day without the people who pick up your daily garbage, the waste disposal people, the farmer without whom you couldn't eat, and the army people who brave killer temperatures, sorroundings and weapons just to protect you, or the policemen who have to work for 24 hours at stretch, at times without proper food or rest, for weeks, their vacations cancelled ?
These are the men, without whom, we won't be able to survive, quite literally. Yet the fact is, that we rarely care to spare a thought for these people, taking time off our...um...BUSY lives. The governments ignore them, their salaries are peanuts, their torsos are mostly bones and their clothes are tattered. At the same time, the guy who endorses your favourite brand of poison (which soft drink do you take ?), the man who steals your money and tortures you to your face (politician) and the man who killed the buck are the ones you'd rather read , see , hear and talk about. And yea, they get richer n richer, doing things which are of little use, still getting the people's support. Near and Deer ones , did we say ?
You see, people would rather discuss the "Literary Meet", or "Yaar Apnee Waali IPL State Team Jeetegi ?", when these things are useless, yes, I used the word USELESS. Simply because, if tomorrow, one of em' was refused food, thrown waste in the face, and stabbed twice in the chest, I guarantee you I would neither be hearing literary verses from that person nor would I hear a "Mumbai Indians Zindabaad ! ". On top of it, no team ever plays for the state, which the gullible lots can't digest anyways, and it's no gossip that they play for money, ONLY. Yet, these are the people who get discussed, talked of and praised.
It is high time, that people are to realise, that the true Bharat Ratna ain't no Sachin, Amitabh or Lata, it is every single one of these people, without whom, the former three would be of little use. Why did I make this post ? Just to ensure, that it is upon educated people like us, to bring justice to these people, whether we become journalists or not. Also, it is about time, that signature campaigns are made to ensure a decent life for these people, instead of running a campaign to promote some "Sahitya Chalval" or "Aman Ki Asha" or some "26/11 Candlelight March" and other un-productive movements.
Here's Me Saluting The True Heroes Of This World.............................Peace OutZ!
